PLME Experiences, anyone?

If any of you are currently pursuing the PLME program or have just graduated from PLME, or know someone who passed on some information, could you kindly post your experiences at Brown?
Below are the topics I would like to know more about.

Rigor of courses

opportunities for Summer research experience

Med school scene

How much partying goes on/drinking

Cafeteria food

Safety around campus

any hazing?

any other topic

the plme program is more of a set of great opportunties than a "program" per se. it allow you to turn your undergraduate and medical school experiences into a continuum, with opportunities to take medical school classes like fetal medicine as an undergraduate and opportunities to take university classes like medical literature as a medical student.

plme's have their own set of advisors during the 8 years, and a dedicated fund for summer research in addition to all of the other opportunties that brown pre-meds have.

the rigor of the courses can depend on which classes you select, but the medical school pre-requisites are all very challenging. the nice thing, as a plme, is that you take them with the security of already having a guaranteed seat at the medical school.

the medical school is poised to become one of the very top in the country, particularly after the recent $100 million donation

PLME requirements are less than regular premeds- PLMEs only need to take one semester of orgo for example. The less stringent requirements allow PLMEs to study pretty much whatever they want during undergrad.

-the PLMEs are with regular undergrads- most of the time you don't even know who a PLME is unless you ask

-you can party as much or as little as you want.

-cafeteria food- i find it bad, most people find it tolerable

-campus is safe, but dont be a total moron (dont walk around city streets late at night alone- u'll probly be fine but why risk it?)

Many thanks for your experiences!
