Plme

HI, I am a sophomore in high school and my dream is to attend Brown’s PLME direct med program. My unweighted GPA is a 98.5 and my weighted is a 100.7. My unweighted GPA so far this year is a 97.1 but I’m taking all honors and two APs. I took a practice SAT without studying and got a 1750. I was accepted into a prestigious research program at Stony Brook University this past summer. I took the Bio SATII after taking the honors course but did terribly. I am planning on taking it again after AP. Am I on the right track? Do I have to work harder? Please give me your opinions. Thanks

You’ll be fine and you’re definitely on the right track. But you’re also a sophomore. Do what you’re passionate about and let the results follow later. If you spend your entire time in high school only doing what you think will get you into college, then you will look back and and wish that you had done what you enjoyed, rather than focused only on getting into university, especially if it does not end up working out. Sophomore year is too early to worry about college, and it is definitely too early for college to be dictating the decisions that you make. Follow your passion in medicine, and trust that if you work hard and do all that you can do (as long as you put your best foot forward), you have done your best and things will work out. You only go to high-school once. Work hard, but make the most of it!
