NOTE:I clearly know that a 28 will not get me into most of my schools on this list. ***

Assume you get 32 in ACT, you will become an average applicant and should have a chance like the OOS admission rate of ~20% (low reach to reach).

@billcsho to what schools?

Also, my GPA is supposed to be over a 101 by the end of the year as calculated by my guidance counselor. @billcsho

@bma31300 Sorry that I left out the school name. I mean for UMich. Also, please recalculate your uwGPA in 4.0 max scale. wGPA does not tell anything as there is no standard behind the weight.

What is your class rank and GPA on a 4.0 scale?

ACT is pretty much the main thing holding you back.

@billcsho As amazing as my high school is ranked, they don’t have class rankings and they don’t tell you your unweighted gpa, and what it would be on a 4.0 scale. Although, I do recall my guidance counselor saying that I had a 4.0 gpa on a 4.0 scale.

Do you have letter grades? If not, do you have percent grades up to 100 max? The question is whether your GC is telling you your GPA with or without weight.

Your GPA and ACT are below average for Clemson so I wouldn’t consider it a safety school. As for U of South Carolina, your chances would be pretty good.

My GPA is below the average for Clemson? I really don’t think you know what you are saying… @timeflies93
100.5 is clearly not below average for Clemson…

“100.5 is clearly not below average for Clemson…”

I think the issue is: How is this computed?

As far as I can tell, weighted GPA is pretty much impossible to compare because different high schools compute it differently. I have seen high schools where a 90 in a CP class is a 4.0, and high schools where a 97 in a CP class is a 3.7. I have not seen any high schools in which it was possible to have a GPA greater than 100, but I have heard on CC that there are some.

“wGPA does not tell anything as there is no standard behind the weight”

Exactly. I am not saying that there is anything wrong with a wGPA of 100.5, I am just saying that I have no idea what it means.

Well I have a 4.0 Unweighted… @DadTwoGirls

It is possible to have a GPA over 100… Many students who do well in their first couple years like me then take lots of weighted courses in their junior and senior year. I take about 7 IB courses and lets say my average in my IB Math class is a 98 for the year i get weighting on that. This is going to bring my grade over a 100… @DadTwoGirls

Cornell, Emory, Georgia Tech, Umich, Wake, and UVA are high reaches.

With an ACT of 28, Clemson is not a safety. Many students with stats similar or higher than yours were surprised to be waitlisted , bridged or deferred. ECs are typically not considers exciter for Honors College admissions.

100.5 would have to be weighted. With the booster courses you listed, you have had access to a higher weighted GPA. I do know that weighted GPA averages are higher for the accepted students than what you have listed here. Best of luck.
