PLS give me some advice and chance me!!!

I am a International student and currently studying at Iowa State University in Industrial Engineering, the reason i enter the university is because i didn't took sat...

I'm thinking about transferring to a better college but i just don't know when is the right time to transfer. My dream is to go to the universities like stanford northwestern michigan (after seeing the threats i know is really really hard...) that are both good ranking in industrial engineering and overall cause i'm interested in business and physics too

Now i don't know if I wanted to transfer as a sophomore student or a junior student, cause most of the good schools don't accept transfer as a sophomore and if i transfer as a sophomore i think i would most probably going to wisconsin madison or purdue

my hs: top independent school in malaysia
hs gpa: we don't count gpa.
test: UEC - 4 distinctions in major subjects (could say is equivalent to A-levels, but until now only u of toronto and national u of singapore recognize it)
hs sig ec: fund raising game project president, represented my school to a national science camp and some international physics competition (although u didn't got a medal...)
sig experience: after graduate my hs i work in a mid-size industry, i got promoted cos of my hardworking and the timing is just right, basically i trained a group of new foreign workers and made changes to company production system which in turn cutting the rejection rate and increasing the production rate. I went to New Zealand for working holiday for 3 months after i resigned.

college gpa: 1st semester (midterm grades are 4.0)
sig ec: founding a club (activity center decision in progress)

most of my friends are transfer student from malaysia and when i saw their coursework i don't found it challenging. btw, the calculus 1 & 2 is easier than my hs math as well as calculus based physics... getting an 90+ here is like getting an 60-70 in my hs... The question they ask in my hs exam is seriously hard, is like the teachers are competing to see how's exam is harder... they will be proud if we all don't know how to do their exams... btw my hs teaches 3 languages and does it count as an advantage??

I REALLY need some advice! i really don't know which school i should aim for and the chances of going in... But i don't want to study here for too long so sometimes i'm thinking transferring to madison is good enough... Pls also chance me if i apply for the top universities as junior...
THANKS for all your time!! I really appreciate it!!!

Iowa State is a fine university. Many college freshmen, both internationally and domestic, find their first semester or first year of college to be “easy”. This only means that you were very well prepared for college–but not all freshmen are so well prepared, so the first year of college often is an experience of getting all the students on the same page, so to speak.

Stanford is probably a waste of your transfer application fee–2% acceptance rate or less. I suggest picking a few schools like Madison and seeing what happens with the transfer process. It sounds like what you need is to find out if the upper division courses at Iowa State or one of these transfer schools will offer you the challenges that you want. Don’t rule out Iowa State before discussing with some professors or other upper division students how rigorous the study becomes in later years.

hmm thanks for your advice!
i understand it will get much more harder while i proceed. The story is actually like this, many of my friends went to national university of singapore, which is like 31 in the world and 11 in engineering, but i just don’t like singapore and i would like to prove myself, i could go to a much higher ranking university if i go to other country like UK but USA is simply just my dream. My friends freshman courses are ridiculously hard though. So Iowa State is a stepping stone for me and i wanted to transfer even before i came to usa. In my current state I just feeling I’m wasting my parents money cause the things that i learn here can’t satisfy me and i just don’t think its a good tradeoff for other universities that i could have enter in other countries. Do you think that I should go to madison if they want me or just wait for another year to try the universities that i really wanted to go? (excluding stanford now…)
I know iowa state is a good school and i like the atmosphere but its hard to say out my feelings…
