So after submitting my common app I just realized that unlike all the other schools, nowhere on the common app does Cornell ask if you need Financial Aid or not.
Where do we declare it then?

They are need blind. But on the common app there is a box you check.

Look on Cornell’s website to see the details and requirements for filing for FA. It’s pretty self-explanatory as to what you need to do and all the deadlines.

thank you…

@annwank I specifically checked for Cornell there’s no box to check for financial aid. Its just year to start status of student major etc. No mention of financial aid anywhere.

This is all they ask??? No FA questions???

Cornell University hosts Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) units from all four branches of the military (Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force). Are you interested in participating in any of these programs (competing for a scholarship or just attending some classes)?

@laurabae What I mean to say is that on the Common App itself it asks if you will be applying for FA (just in general).
There is a box you check. Cornell pays no attention to this, as I personally asked the question when we had our info session. I know the Cornell supplement does not ask for it because they are need blind. Hope this clears it up.

@annwank Common App itself doesn’t ask if I’m applying for FA at all. Only school specific questions ask and Cornell didn’t have a FA question.
^Actually it’s under the “citizenship” section. It asks for your SSN if you will be applying for FA. Kind of a back door way to see who is applying for FA, but Cornell does not pay attention to this.
These are the only questions under citizenship section:
Select your citizenship status
List citizenship(s)
Currently held United States visa
Are you an international?
Yep!
Cornell requires a CSS and FAFSA by 2/15/15 to process financial aid requests. Check their website.
@laurabae, then that’s why you don’t see it.
Ahh I see. Thanks for your help, happy new year!
