Hello

I have taken both the ACT and SAT. Should I submit my SAT or ACT Score, or both? Which would be more strategic?

I scored 34/36 for ACT: English - 34, Math - 35, Reading - 31, Science- 36,
Composite writing score -31 (8/12 for essay)

I attempted SAT twice: I did better on the first round... Crit reading: 750, Math: 790, Writing: 660 --> Total 2200. Second round Crit reading: 720, Math: 800, Writing: 660 --> Total 2180.

I feel that the SAT writing score is rather weak. If I submit my SAT score, should I use score choice? Please kindly advise. THANKS!!!!

I would submit your ACT score

I’d say both, just so they can see that you can do well on each section, a sort of mental superscoring, either conscious or unconscious. Your ACT scores are a little better overall.

However, I’d recommend retaking one of them to improve your writing score. A 660, you’re right, isn’t very good among the most competitive universities, though it’s not like 8/12 on your essay is gonna get you in the newspaper anytime soon either.

So, Emberjed, is your host student talking about any of this stuff? How does the focus there for juniors and seniors compare to over here?
