pls help!~URGENT question for TRANSFER.

Hi everyone.I'm transferring to another college next January.
And now, I'm in the associated student body in my current college.
I'm very likely to be elected secretary of the dept. of studies in the ASB.
The question is, should I go on apply for secretary? Because I'll leave my college in 6 months.

But on the other hand, I think, to be elected secretary may contribute to my application of transfer.

However, I cannot stay a full year being a secretary.
What should I do?Should I stop applying?Or should I go on regardless the fact that I'm leaving soon?

ps.other people in ASB don't know that I'm transferring, and they support me very much.

I have to make a decision in less than 2 weeks...

help pls.

“But on the other hand, I think, to be elected secretary may contribute to my application of transfer.”

By this I take it that you haven’t even applied to transfer yet. Since you haven’t done that, you have no way of knowing whether you will be admitted to the other college/university for second semester. If you aren’t accepted, what is your back-up plan?

If you will leave your current college/university at the end of first semester no matter how your transfer applications work out, then you need to discuss this situation with your potential fellow officers. They may be happy to have you for just that one semester, or they may prefer to have a secretary who is planning to be there for the full year.

If your back-up plan is to stay at your current college/university if your transfer applications don’t work out, then you don’t necessarily need to discuss this with anyone just yet. That discussion can take place after you know that you have been admitted, and you have made a final decision about leaving.

Thanks. So, there are secretaries who work only for one semester?Originally I thought everyone has to serve a full yearin ASB.
I’m just starting to apply for transfer.
