<p>if you are referring to the FAFSA, it is available after January 1st because you will need the information from your 2006 taxes and that information would not be available until after January 1st (total income for the year, etc).</p>
<p>If you are going to school in the fall of 2007, plan on filling out the FAFSA in January. You will need to have tax info for you and your parents -- so getting that info together ASAP is the most helpful.</p>
<p>You can take a look at the 2006-2007 application (get a paper copy) so you have a head's up on what info you will need.</p>
<p>If you are talking about the FAFSA and you are applying for finaid for Sept 2007, you will need to wait a bit. The FAFSA will become available for filing on January 1, 2007 for finaid for the 2007-2008 school year. I believe the CSS Profile can be filed sometime in October for finaid for the 2007-08 school year.</p>
