<p>On average, how long does it take for a PLUS loan credit check to be processed? My mother told me she filled out the application, sent by Ohio State University, and that she received a letter that she was denied. We expected this. I'm supposed to be eligible for an additional $4000 in unsub. loans. However, the OSU student website still lists the PLUS loan as processing the credit check.</p>

<p>I've sent in two queries to the Office of Student Financial Aid, but haven't gotten any replies at all. From the sound of it, OSU is being slow on processing the PLUS loan information. Classes start in around 45 days, and I need that additional loan to pay my fees. Does anybody have any advice on what to do?</p>

<p>Show/fax the school the letter your mom got. That should get your extra $4k loan going.</p>

<p>I would contact Direct Loan Applicant Services at 1-800-557-7394 and see if they have a completed credit check for your parent. It sounds like there may be a pending credit check, or its just that the school has not updated their website just yet, but you will get an answer with Applicant Services.</p>
