To Anyone who has parents who will be taking out a PLUS loan,

Today I received a PLUS loan Borrower's Guide in the mail, and inside there was a Borrower Information Sheet (BIS), a Payment Authorization Form (PAF), and instructions to complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) online. However, it says that if your parents took out a PLUS loan last year, you don't need to sign a new MPN. Does anyone know if we still need to send the completed BIS and PAF to Berkeley in order to get the loan sent to my CARS account?

Thanks so much, you guys!

I got that letter about a month ago. My parents did the MPN cause i think it said you only need to do one every year, but if yours says not to, then dont. I think you still have to send in the BIS and PAF. I would do everything just to be sure. i dont know why you got it so late. That loan takes a long time to pay to CARS. The fin aid office has to process it, then the government does a credit check. Then it gets sent back to berkeley, then it gets sent to CARS. It took me almost 2 months last year to get one of my PLUS loans, and that was about a few months into the spring semester, so the finanical aid iffice wasnt even backed up or anything.

Eh, Whatever. Everything at Cal seems to take forever. Thankfully my semester's tuition is paid off, so it's just going to be rent, which I suppose I can handle until the PLUS loans get processed and refunded to my account.

Yeah, we're sending the BIF and PAF tomorrow morning, but we're not going to do a new MPN since apparently it's not needed.

I wish everything wouldn't take so long. At least the student loans are pretty quick..(says the girl who got ~$200 of it sent to CARS to pay for something, but is still waiting for the darn rest).

Thanks!
