plz answer...urgent

ok...so i am a senior in hs in new jersey. Last summer i realized my talent: playing tennis. I however started playing too late in order to get recruited for d3 tennis. I am going to attending rutgers new Brunswick as a finance major playing club tennis. I have recently been playing usta tournaments and have been doing well. I am a 2-star recruit. Do you know if nyu would let me transfer after my first yr at rutgers in their business school(stern)...and would I be able to play tennis for them(they are d3). My question is basically do they take transfer students to play for their d3 tennis team. I really want to play for their team. I have realized tennis is my passion. thanks a lot

If it’s DIII then it’s likely that your EC sports abilities won’t have a huge impact on your application. At least, that’s been true on the two at the two Division III schools I’ve been a part of.

Your best bet is to contact the coach at NYU.

My sister is a college tennis coach. She’d be open to a transfer - no problem - if they had the ability.

I would also check out NYU’s tennis roster and find out the the records of the current players. You can also probably find their USTA results online. Maybe you can tell how you compare.

thanks linymom, i know I have the ability, I just wasnt sure if a d3 coach would accept a transfer. It seems like its possible. thanks a lot.
