<p>Hi guys
I am an international student and am applying for Wellesley CMC Pomona Carleton Duke Carnegie Mellon UC Berkeley and some other schools .. I know these are very competitive schools so I am really uncertain about my chances. I am currently thinking of doing early decision to Wellesley and ED2 to CMC.</p>

<p>My SAT score is 1500/1600, 2250/2400 and will take again in October, class rank 15% and my school is nationally recognized. SAT subjects: Math2 800, Chemistry 770. APs: Calculus BC(4), Chemistry (4), macro Econ (3), micro Econ (4), psychology(5), statistics (3). I have a 4.0 GPA. </p>

<p>Honors
Conducted a research about Preservation condition of traditional dwellings in my hometown and received the Best Team Performance award in the China Thinks Big competition, which was funded and supported by Havard university. (10 teams out of 300)
First place in the National Young Musicians contest in cello playing.
Second place in Regional Orienteering Competition for women (out of 100 students)
Annual Reading Scholar of school. (2%)
Student of Merit (2011,2012,2013,2014)</p>

<p>Extracurricular activities
created the first PM2.5 calculator ( a major cause of the air problem in my area) App based on human-center designed researches and lab experiments.
Interned at the Citi bank for over a year and am the regional manager, managing a intern group of 20 students size! help design financial analysis for customers.
Co founder of Business Internship Union, which aims to encourage more students to intern and get access to the real world.
School choir member (2009-2014), won city awards.
Play the cello for 10 years and the leader of the school Classical Band.
Editor of school magazine and school website.
Been to southwestern China as a environmental and educational volunteer for 300 hrs. Taught English to kids there.
Made to the finals in the Annual Debate Competition at school as an amateur opening speaker.
Shot and performed in drama video telling a traditional Chinese love story. </p>

<p>You’re solid for any of those schools. If you get rejected it won’t be because of your SAT score, so I wouldn’t waste time on retaking it. Also I hope finances are not an issue otherwise you’re gonna have some trouble because none of those schools are need blind for internationals.</p>

<p>I am not too familiar with CMC but you seem to be a great applicant for the other schools. Your GPA, class rank, and test scores are all excellent. So are your ECs. I agree with Remi in saying that you should not waste time taking the SATs again since a 2250 is an excellent score. Instead you should focus on writing a great essay. Chance me is you have time!

<p>If you’re not applying for financial aid, you would definitely be a desirable applicant at many of those schools. And since finances aren’t a problem, definitely apply to your top choice ED. I wouldn’t waste time retaking the SAT, work on your essays, and work especially hard on the “Why X?” supplements. </p>

<p>Wait, if your GPA is 4.0 why is your class rank top 15%? Well, if your GPA is so good, I don’t think it matters that you’re not top 10%, and since you have good AP scores, it really only shows that your school must be rigorous. </p>
