PLLLLLLLLZ be honest...THANKS for the time (i realized that this is a long post...)

i think you have a decent shot, your chances are lowered by dropping out of the ECs and junior grades, those will really hurt you. you obviously have a better shot if you apply ed, but i really wouldn't expect an acceptance. i suppose if you improved grades (is there time to do that before the app?) and improved the CR, chances will improve, but the dropping out of good ECs sends the message that you aren't really wholeheartedly committed to them, a passion doesn't seem to be evident, this will hurt even your other ECs because they too come into question as to whether you are passionate about them and will continue them at the college level or are simply doing it for the resume effect. EC have two possible positives, one is it can show personal development and two- it can make colleges believe that you will add to their flavor by doing it on campus, or further, gain them recognition by doing well in competitions. The former is present even if you drop out but you lose the latter.

sorry, i didn't want to sugar coat it. What are you thinking of studying? i don't know specifics about times for track, but columbia i think has a great track team.

Now that, is how chances threads should be formatted. You should post this in the "What are my chances" forum to get the best results.

thanks...yea...confidentialcoll i know wut u mean...but the reason i had to drop piano and table tennis after sophomore year is due to my committment to xc/track....i simply couldn't go to table tennis practice anymore...i mean...track ends everyday around 5ish...i'm dog tired...the only thing i CAN go is go home and do hw lol....piano...i had to stop taking lesson cuz i couldn't find an hour everyday to practice anymore....BUT i am still playing (that's y i'm sending a recording in...to show that i still play and am not horrible...) in college, b/c my times r short of D1, i wanna keep playing table tennis...and regarding the SATs, i'm taking them 2 more times (oct and nov) i'm quite confident i'll be able to bring up CR to about ~740...which would get me into 2300+ range...at least that's wut i hope...

bump?.....
