great recommendations from my english teach, cal teacher, and a counselor wiht PhD and 27 yrs experience.
great essays, and i'm really interested in electrical engineering at the top 10 schools, especially Ga Tech , Univ of illinois, and Purdue. if anybody knows any other top 10 EE schools, please tell me ! THANK u soo MUCH :) ooo and my high school is in the top 30-50 public high schools in the nation, and i'm a female :)

bump, bump, bump!

your sats are kinda low. i will tell you this: colleges really care about symmetry between english and math sat.

do you mind tell me what part is too low? the SAT? or GPA? or ECs? i know my verbal is kinda low, but i heard that most engineering schools care more for math score, but thanks for your opinoin :)

i dont know the latter two but you have a good shot at georgia tech. i was just saying that for the past few years colleges are looking balanced students. not that you are not balanced. but the sat could work against you.

I have to disagree about the symmetry.

My scores:

SAT: 1440 (790m, 650v)
Math IIc 790
Chem 760
Writing 670

Accepted to Columbia ED

Where is the symmetry there?

wow,, the symmetry was the first to me, but your SAT score is symmetric enough, it's high UP there,, hehe.... congrats that u are already admitted to a school, i'm behind on my application :) , thanks for your post :) and merry christmas

It's not that high up for Ivy, but thanks. Good luck to you and merry Christmas.

bump, bump, bump!!!

bump!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!anybody?? come on, say something, hehe...

You will receive many acceptances. Schools are looking for women engineers, and you have a lot of leadership positions and awards. Also, you seem to be into hard core technology, unusual for a girl. I see no problem with these top public universities. If you could up your SAT scores or post some good scores in AP exams or SAT II's you would have a good shot at some of the elite private schools.

thanks for the info, I've never taken SAT IIs, coz my SAt I score delayed my whole process, and last year's cal exam, i only had a 4, don't know if that'll hurt me or help me :)

bump, anybody? more suggestion?

What state do you live in? Why are you targetting state schools where you will have to pay out-of-state tuition? Do you need financial aid and have you looked into it yet? Check out Northeastern's coop program, and look at some of the private tech schools like Rennselaer, Rochester Inst. of Technology, Worchester Polytech (gives guaranteed merit scholarships). University of Rochester gives scholarships and is good.

You have a decent chance because English is not your first language. When did you move to the US? Are you a Junior or a Senior?

thanks for your posts, i thought my SAT and GPA are too low for private schools, and they tend to be more expensive, so i never paid attention to them, i also want to attend a top-notch school, like top 10 schools for EE, i moved to u.s. 3 yrs ago, i came here for my freshman year and i'm a senior right now.

ooo one more thing, it's nice to get scholarships for me and my parents desperately wanted me to, but since we didn't think i have the chance, they're willing to pay for out-of-state tuition, sigh...i should've studied more for the SAT

buuuuuuummmmmmmmmppppppppppp!!!

bumppppppppppppppppppp!!!!!

You should get into those schools, as engineering looks at more math scores so it shouldn't be a problem.
