plz help.... NYU ED2 notification letter

<p>My son applied for NYU ED II CAS. He is an athlete and the NYU Coach wanted him. The coach went to admissions and got a pre-read of his transcript and his credentials. The admission gave him a green light and the coach went to the admissions office several times after to make sure everything is ok.
Last friday 2/14 was the notification date and he got this letter from admissions </p>

<p>" The admission committee at New York University is happy to inform you that we are likely to offer admissions into our College of arts and sciences campus this year! However we would like to take one more week to carefully consider your credentials and transcript. As you likely suspect we receive more applications from exceedingly qualified students than we are able to admit each year. .......We will review you application once more and finalize our decision. You can expect and e mail from us on February 21"</p>

<p>I am going crazy now contacted the coach and he could not understand why this is happening.
Did anybody heard of this happening?
I know my son will get an email tomorrow but i am getting very nervous.
What are his chances you think??</p>

<p>I was also going to say it looked good … there would be no sense in sending these “wink” letters out if they were REALLY on any kind of fence. :)</p>
