Duke is my dream school
Thanks for all your imput

You've got a solid chance. Your SAT I is in the range, your rank is in the top 10%, and your schedule is strong. Your ECs leave a bit to be desired though. There's no focus or passion visible. The varsity track is ok but not going to wow anyone unless you're one of the top in your state. Don't expect 250 hours of volunteer work to impress them all that much either. Quite frankly, you will need to use your essays to really stand out from the crowd of many just like you on paper who apply to Duke every year. But if your recommendations and essay come out really well, you have a solid chance (maybe 45-50%)

Thank you very much....you make great points which I'll definitley keep in mind

post your stats on the duke early roster in this forum =) tryin to set up a good list

i know cant change anyting but im so nervous what u guys think my chacnes are, i think my itnerview went real well, i def. display strong devotion to the school and appeared well reounded. thanks

I'm about to have an anxiety attack as well. Six weeks is a pretty long time!
One question-- is Duke accepting your November SAT II Scores? Random question.. just curious.

Best of luck to you!. Let's party if we get in.

hey ty best of luck to u also....big party ahha. as to those sat2s in november i think its ok if theya re rushed but dont totally trust me.

yeah duke says rushed november sat scores usually get to them in time for ED

I think you stand a solid chance. You're involvement in sports is a good thing. You've been COMMITTED to everything you've done, unlike myself. I've only been really committed to 1 thing because I was a loner my first 2 years of HS. lol. The only think that really leaves to be desired is class rank, but you're in the top 10 percent at a huge school, so I can't imagine that would be incredibly detrimental. Really, it comes down to the essays for both of us. Good Luck to ALL of us!!

you are lucky your class weights gpa's so your gpa goes up and so does your class rank which looks good for you. Unfortuantely EVERY school unweights gpas and brings them back to a 4 point scale making your gpa terrible for duke ed. sorry but that's how the system works

first off, thanx for looking into my post ijm.

I believe your statistics are nice. 1440 on the SATs is in the range, and your class rank is up there. I agree with the others, make sure you make your essay very good. As an ED, your chances have probably been increased by a lot. Just keep focuses.

Your GPA might be low but since you are in top10%, so thats out of the question. Your SAT is pretty good for Duke but be sure to take SAT II's... Your ECs look alright but I think you should somehow indicate on your appz that you were devoted and that its not just a laundry list...you got a pretty good list of schools, Northwestern is the only one thats really up in the air... you are a competitive applicant and if your essay is above average, you got a shot at Duke..its good you are applying for ED..best of luck to you!

update: 750 math 1c and 690 math2c and 680 writing thanks johnst goodlcuk to u also

yea looks good except 690 IIC I think its a kinda low percentile but i doubt colleges will even consider the percentile
