<p>Hello, what did your friend think of the social life? I like the school, I'm just afraid there isn't a whole lot to do outside of the school.</p>
<p>The school is very big on partying... my friend said "all the popular kids join frats/sororities" but i think you'd be also fine not joining one. The students seem to be very into drinking. My friend took me to one of the local bars and they really don't check IDs closely at all bc mine was chalked and they seriously only looked at it for less than a second. You have to take into consideration that like 70% of students are from VA though. If you are not from the South and don't like the south then this could be bad. However, most are from Northern Va which is a lot like the northeast. You can really make your experience what you want. You can take part in frats/sororities/clubs/sports/etc. or you can also not and you'll do fine both ways. It gives you a chance to either seek the spotlight or fade into the background-- your choice. But it really has the atmosphere of "work hard, play hard."</p>
