I am interested in studying Education. Hope to get into a good college with strong Education major programs. I wish I can go to Vanderbilt but it seems too hard.

Any good schools besides Vandy that is strong on Edu?

It probably makes the most sense to go for an education degree in the state where you would like to teach because local colleges know the specific state requirements.

Also, I would apply to state schools. Never saw the need to spend all that money for a degree in Education, Nursing, etc. I think those degrees speak for themselves, that the graduating student is competent and don’t think any particular school will hold you back from getting a job.

Depends. Do you just want to teach? Go to your state school. Want to be hired by a think tank, or government agency that deals with education? Go to the best school you can afford that offers education courses beyond “methods” (how to teach math, how to teach reading, etc.) courses. Want to work for an educational publisher? Go to your state school, teach for a while, then get a masters at a more selective school to develop your “expert” credentials…Studying education doesn’t only lead to the classroom…

I do not really want to be a teacher with Education, but open up some training centers to develop children’s brain, like to make them smarter. I’m not sure what specifically major is for the interest.
