plz suggest or guide on SAT

hello members,
i live in india and am going to give my SAT I test on the coming june 2 and am interested in engineering.however i was unable to register for and subject test.i was just wondering whether anyone can suggest course that would not require SAT II subject tests or colleges that do not require SAT II subject test for an engineering undergrad in electronics, robotics, computer science.thanks

Although I don't know any colleges that don't require SAT II, I would like to say a few things.

If you are taking SAT I on June 2, why don't you take SAT II at the next time? (I think it is September). Besides, I am pretty sure that you cannot take SAT II on the same day as your SAT I.

By the way, I am Indian too, and we would love to see you on The Indian Thread #15! Welcome to the forum!

First off, welcome. I'd echo Rama_GB. Most Engineering colleges would require SAT IIs. However, it is very, very possible to give the SAT Subject tests in November, or even in December. (Though November is advised).

Otherwise, you should look into the State Universities. U Texas Austin I think doesn't require SAT IIs. There will be others.

However, my primary advice to you right now would be to search the individual college websites. (Get a hold of a listing of colleges, and then check their websites to see if they require SAT IIs)

University of Michigan, Ann Arbor - great for Engineering
University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign - Also good for Engineering
Purdue University - simple to get in - good for Engineering.

None of them need SAT 2 and pretty damn good when it coms to Engineering. You could still do the SAT 2 in October and apply to the Ivies , Berkely , Standford etc.

USC doesn't require SAT II either.

I am pleased to help you here.
So, firstly, welcome to CC.
Now, as you are an Indian and taking your SAT Reasoning test on June 2nd, I would suggest you to go the practice tests and SAT preparation books ''thoroughly''. I am sure you are good at english and Mathematics, but, the Time factor is a HUGE factor in SATs.
Now, that's for SAT Reasoning. For SAT II, you can always that in October and/or November (For EA/ED) or even in December (For RD).(I am considering the fact that you will be applying for the class of 2012)....
Don't be in the illusion that you can take SAT Reasoning and SAT Subject tests on the SAME DAY. This has NEVER happened and I suppose nor will happen in future.
Go through the links in the ''Important advice for Int'l Students'' in this forum. I am sure they will help.
My best wishes for your college selection.

And, Do NOT FORGET to visit the college/university's site in which you intend to apply....AND read the information(s) they provide for a prospective student/Undergraduate student properly...I repeat READ IT PROPERLY...Take every words SERIOUSLY (I mean, do not underestimate ANYTHING which is given/stated in their site)..
Be familiar with the whole admission process ASAP...

many (most of) the state universities do not require the SAT II. even some top notch universities like JHU, Rice, NU have kept the SAT IIs optional for some engineering streams.

you can also try the ACT which includes a science section. many universities waive of SAT II requirement if you give ACT.

get ROcket review Revolution. its available on online book sections. good luck.
