Is anyone else listening to the new Serial series, The Retrievals? There is so much to unpack in this story. Waiting for the next episode to drop to see how much of it they get to. The story of dozens of women who underwent egg retrievals in 2020 at Yale’s IVF clinic without anesthetic because a nurse had stolen it and replaced it with saline. Disturbing on so many fronts, and also revealing of how women are treated in the medical, legal, etc arenas. Very well done (so far!)

I am listening. The judge was horrid. What a slap in the face to the victims.

I agree. She watched them being tortured and got off so lightly. I really appreciated how the victims could articulate their feelings about the sentencing. Very interested in hearing how the whole medical establishment rationalized all those data points about pain, which surely they all knew to be "irregular ".
And the one patient — who I think was an oncology nurse, but I get them all confused — knew and stated that she was getting saline. And they still didn’t believe her!!!
