Pogue Scholarship

Hi, I am an OOS student and I got an email stating I was nominated for the Pogue Scholarship. How significant is this? I hear that out of 16,000 apps only 75 are selected (15 being OOS), but that's from 2010 so is it different now?
How many people apply from out of state and how many people get Pogue-nominated?
Lastly, I was not invited to Scholarship Day but received the Pogue nomination anyway. Is it normal?
Thanks :)

I’m in-state and was nominated also. I think it IS normal to get nominated for Pogue, but not invited to Scholarship Day. And I read the same thing. It was very selective in 2010, but I can’t imagine that has changed too drastically. The numbers are probably similar.

Can i still get the pogue even if though I wasn’t nominated in my acceptance package?

I’m pretty sure that the Pogue is nomination only. And from the site, it looks like it is separate from scholarship day and it has a separate interview/finalist weekend process. Good luck to you guys, and congratulations!

So, I looked in 2010 and the website said only 15 OOS students are nominated for it. Does this mean only 15 receive the email w/ acceptance saying they can apply, or is the 15 after everyone submits the actual Pogue application?

I was nominated for the Pogue and invited to scholarship day, as well.
I am also out of state, and didn’t know that being chosen for it was so competitive!

I’m just wondering if it’s true that only 15 OOS even get the email saying they’re nominated for the Pogue, or if more get it and 15 just means the number of finalists.

Okay, so I apparently did get Scholarship Day. Does that mean my chances are better?

Has anyone heard from Pogue about finalists invited for visit? Website says by February 25th
