We are so thankful to have a choice to make. I know that these are two completely different programs and that kids pick their schools for different reasons. My D will hopefully be visiting PP this weekend and she has been to Muhlenberg to audition. When she came back from Muhlenberg she said that she loved the school and it had everything that she was looking for in a college. I think she will like PP just as well even though it is completely different. The cost should be comparable. I was just wondering if any of you had any thoughts about which school you would pick out of the two. My D is a strong dancer, then singer, then actor. Thanks for all your help and insight.

Would your daughter by happy if she didn’t get into the BFA at PP. If not, I’d go with Muhlenberg. They have almost everything a BFA has; as long as your daughter knows what she wants, she should be able to manipulate her schedule in order to get everything she wants out of muhlenberg

I think she would be okay if she did not get into the BFA program at Point Park. If she picked PP, she would have to go there knowing that there is a chance that she would not make it into the BFA program and end up with a BA degree. She was leaning more towards a BA degree in the beginning to get a well rounded education. Once the rejections started rolling in…she didn’t care what kind of a degree she would end up with…she just wanted an acceptance…lol.

In that case it really is a personal choice. I would try to visit each college again and let her see which one she thinks she would mesh with better.

Without a doubt, I would have your kid go with Point Park, they train triple threats, and they get work, for money. my kid has had the best overall training there. She will be a rising junior this fall with an acceptance to the BFA program AND her EQUITY CARD. She got cast last summer making lotsa $$$ via NETC auditions and cast this summer in Pittsburgh CLO (earning her equity card)! You can’t do better than that. PPU trains professionals. I couldn’t be happier with my investment.

I second everything Ponysingermom wrote! Point Park trains triple threats, and from what i hear having a name like Point Park on your resume will definitely stand out. I personally recommend Point Park, but of course whats most important is where you feel you’ll be happiest.

Thank you very much for your thoughts and insight. I also feel that Point Park will be the better choice. She is going to visit this weekend for accepted students day, so hopefully she will get a feel for the school and the program.
