My son is accepted at Point Park MT, visited on COPA Accepted Student weekend an fell in love with the students, the school, and the city. He is currently Priority Hold at Shenandoah and we got a “still interested?” Email yesterday. If he were to come off the Hold, we need to be ready. Any food for thought is appreciated! TY
The school locations are vastly different. Shen is a traditional campus in the cute quaint town of Winchester, VA.
Have you visited Shenandoah? As @GSOMTMom said, the campuses are very different. I believe Shenandoah is also know for its pop/rock vocal training, if that is something your son is interested in.
Thank you for both responding- I knew you would! We have been to VA and he loved it at the time. That was before going to Pittsburgh. And he does like the pop aspect, but seems all schools are tapping into that now.
The pop/rock vocal training happens in senior year at Shen. At least it did when my daughter was there. Her vocal instruction freshman year was classical and she would have remained with that teacher until senior year when they switch over to Matt Edwards for the pop/rock training. The acting training is Meisner for 2 or 2.5 years, I believe. Again, my intel is now 3 years old. I would suggest that your son line up the curriculums for both to see which one best fits his goals.
