Point System Cutoff

Does anyone know the recent point cutoff? Im about a 8200. If anyone else knows the other UC point cutoffs that would be great!

thank you!

The point system is only for UCSD. Other campuses have their own point systems, while Cal and UCLA have a holistic system where they don’t do points. With an 8200, you should be in at UCSD easily.

okay thanks! if anyone else knows the cutoff for the other ucs with their own point systems please let me know!

The question should not be what is the point cutoff, but rather how accurately did you calculate your own points.

Post your stats here and I’ll tell you how many points you have.

HI im new and i always wanted to know how the UCSD points work can someone calculate how many i have?

oh and a 29 then 30 ACT

@map the soul-are you talking to me seriousllyyy???

Flowers2010, don’t take this personally, but there is no way that you are in without even having to calculate it, as mapthesoul says. From a quick look, I can say that you would be one near the brink of how many points you would need to be admitted, so a calculation would be necessary to determine if you’d be in or not.

mapthesoul: wt f are you doing dude? Don’t mislead people.

@KMA: Yeah seriously.

@enemyunit: I’m misleading people? It’d be good to consider that neither of us are admissions officers. To reiterate, in a chances thread, it’s individual opinion within reasonable bounds to guess whether someone will get in or not. Why do people ask to get chanced? It’s a confidence booster or to get glimpse of hope that they MIGHT get in. On the off-chance that they don’t get into SD, the world doesn’t end. There are plenty of other colleges that may be better suited to their needs. But simply put, SD is not a hard school to get into.

^ You know that there is a point system though right? You’d need around 7800 to get in. You were saying some people who were around the high 6000s that they would surely get in …!!!

We might be on the same side here though. If you are a current student or alum, how many years ago were you admitted? I’m pretty sure it has gotten harder over the years to get admission, so that might be the source of our disagreement.

Is it really that hard to wait 2 weeks and find out yourself if you get in or not… jeez.

Yeah I’m aware of the point system - though it seems unreliable. There are people with subpar stats that get in.

But yeah, if you come to Admit Day or whatever, I’d be happy to show you around.

^ lol i know

everyone is allowed to have their own opinion. even with a point system there is room for error/opinion. please everyone be kind!

“^ lol i know”

directed towards rypto, comment before mapthesoul, just to clarify any confusion.

Cheyenne, unless that’s your unweighted GPA and your weighted GPA is healthily into the 4’s, your chances aren’t that great. That being said, you might get the points for overcoming hardships and get in, which is why mapthesoul references admissions despite subpar stats.
