Pol. Sci 40 open to non-majors?

My daughter was going to register for Polital Science 40 but someone told her that during first pass it is only open to majors. We cannot find confirmation of that. Does anyone know if this is true?

its not, im taking it right now and im a civil engineer lol, if your daughter end up taking the class you know where to look for cheap textbooks for that class wink wink

edit… sorry i just reread the question and i get what you mean now… i just checked and it is indeed only open to the major for first pass :(

kick its not restricted for summer enrollment

it is restricted for fall enrollment. you can see if its true either by trying to enroll (it’ll block you) or by looking at the registrar site (column after “room” will be yes/no for restrictions)
[Schedule of Classes: Class Listing](http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/schedule/detselect.aspx?termsel=09F&subareasel=POL+SCI&idxcrs=0040++++)

right now it looks like its still restricted. its usually lifted sometime after second pass enrollment starts

yeah normally it lifts at the start of 2nd pass… i hate how theres these restrictions really, last quarter i had a class that was suppose to be taken by 2nd years and transfers yet they limited it to seniors in civil engineering and there were 3 spots left on the waitinglist by 2nd pass… i grabbed the last spot, i mean for an once a year class its pretty bad to put that kind of limit…

Thanks for the replies. Didn’t know about the restricted notation. That is good to know. She signed up for another GE and will monitor Pol Sci 40 during second pass but it will probably fill up. Thanks again!
