<p>cal doesn't admit people into any specific major. you are admitted into your college. i applied to Cal for political science and was admitted into L&S... when I asked if it would be possible for me to change my major to Philosophy they said it wouldn't be a problem since I needed to apply for a major after my semester anyways.</p>
<p>The transfer flyer for Cal shows that all majors under the Social Sciences (Poli Sci, History, Psychology, etc.) department have a 25% transfer rate. It is very competitive. UCLA actually posts its average GPAs of transfer students and while it is selective, it is not quite as selective as Cal.</p>
