pol sci/IR

I heard that U of C is more of a science oriented college. Is this true?
How prestigious are the social sciences at Uof C? Specifically, IR and pol sci

Hey there! I'm in the same dilemma, I am not sure which one to pick along with econ. So, I did a wee bit of research and this is what I got:

UChi is best known for its pol sci (altho its IR program is really good) "the National research council has ranked Chicago's political science program among the top ten in the Uninted States, both in faculty and in teaching effectiveness."
Still, you should chose taking into consideration what you wanna be.

IR Basically it prepares you for academic, gov, nonprofit or business careers with an international focus.

Pol sci on the other hand, prepares one with a macro view, in the sense that if one wants to be president, work for the UN, be a statesman sort of thing, they should choose Pol sci.

Both are interdisciplinary programs
