Are classes for POLI/PHIL 27 mandatory? If they are, is it possible to switch discussion times? I had to sign up for an 8am discussion time, so I was wondering if some alternative would be possible. Thanks!

yes the discussions are all mandatory since they take attendance in each one. That how they factor in the attendance grade

does attendence grade count for anything?

Candy299, what would be the point of grading attendance if it didn’t count for anything??

Edit: I see now.

I took it in spring 2007 and heres what the grading looks like:

I’m taking it right now (Winter 09)… There are two papers (each is six pages long). The first paper is 20%, the second is 30%, the final is 40%, and attendance is 10%.
