I'm a very humanities oriented person -- though I've always done well in math and science, I'm not interested in either (especially not math). It's been pretty hard to narrow down majors that I'm interested in, not to mention careers that I'm interested in. Drama is really what I love to do, but I love reading/writing/history nearly as much and I know it's quite likely that I won't end up acting professionally. My mom was a professional actress and English major, and now works a low-income job. She's been encouraging me to follow my passion, but back it up with a degree that makes it less likely for me to end up in her position, which I agree is probably the best path. I've been thinking recently about Political Science, though I don't know that much about it (aside from APUSH this year and AP Gov next year). I really like learning about history and government, and I think I would be happy working on a political campaign, in government, or maybe getting into journalism. I've also been seriously considering the possibility of law school, recently, though I'm not sure if it will be plausible as I come from a low income family. I guess my question is, does it sound like Political Science would be a good major for me to pursue? I've also thought about an English major (but what would I do with it, besides be a teacher, which I would probably be okay with) or a Communications major (I don't really know what this would lead to either). Additionally, how hard would it be to double major with a B.A. in Theatre/Acting? Should I maybe just do a minor? Thanks so much for any help you can give!

I think a good idea for you may be broadcasting. It ties in your acting and still could bring in politics, on top of that, you can work in any state for any news! good luck!
