Alright, so I have to make a choice soon about whether to go to UCB or UCLA. I'm probably going with a political science major (hopefully i can double major and also take econ) as a path to law school. Which school is better in this context?

UCB is known for being very political. And very liberal, more so than other colleges.

I know that, I’m kind of leaning towards UCB because of it, but I’m more interested in the actual classes.

[NRC Rankings in Political Science](http://www.stat.tamu.edu/~jnewton/nrc_rankings/area39.html)

I would strongly consider UCSD as well, but UCI and UCSB are also very good in Poli Sci.

Of course you don’t have to major in poli sci, you can major in anything. The key to getting to Law School are good grades and good LSAT scores. Interestingly, Philosophy and English majors do quite well as do History majors.

It’s not really like that any more. Most of the type of students that went to Berkeley during the 60s and 70s go to San Francisco State, UC Santa Cruz, and Humboldt State these days…
