Hi,
I am applying to UCLA’s class of 2023. I was going to put political science as my intended major, but recently learned that this is one of the most popular majors at UCLA. I realize that UCLA only officially says that engineering is impacted, but if this is one of the more popular majors I assume that they will only want a certain amount. I have heard of people putting less popular majors on the app, then if they get admitted and decide to go, change their major to the true one they wanted. Is this a better strategy?
Thanks
@macs122 UCLA Letters and Science does not admit by Major. Everyone is technically undeclared so your chances of getting in is 14%ish across the board. Impacted status matters when declaring the major as a student but has no bearing on acceptance.
