Don't get too hung up on the quality of the department in a field like poli sci that nearly every college and university has. Virtually every college and university with a decent overall reputation will have an adequate undergrad poli sci department, and with your gpa and test scores you aren't in a position to get really picky.

Best approach is to come up with a list of colleges you particularly like, and ask if anyone knows them to be especially weak in poli sci. There might be a couple here or there that are particularly weak, but in general all the big state universities, and the better liberal arts colleges and private universities will have a department that will keep you busy and teach you a lot.

Prestige probably came home exhausted from a polo match, dove into a plate of steak tartare, and didn't have his manservant brief him on the entire thread.

AMERICAN! AU is the most politically active campus in the country- has an incredible Poli Sci department and is great for internationals! definitely look into it!

Look at colleges that are in state capitals or are in or near D.C. Usually such places have excellent poli sci departments, and many such places would be happy to have a student with your stats.Since financial aid is important for you, also check out the financial aid info on the colleges' web sites to find out if you're likely to get the aid you need.

Good point about picking schools in/near the states' capital cities, Northstarmom. Such places that the OP could get into include Nebraska, Michigan State, Ohio State, Minnesota, Sacramento State, South Carolina, Florida State, Wyoming, Utah, Louisiana State, U of Hawaii, & Arizona State.

Yeah, I've been doing exactly what Northstarmom has suggested... looking at individual college websites and looking at financial aid information for internationals. I think American U is a very good choice... also U. Richmond.

Do you have any suggestions on other school names I might look into?

Tourguide: those seem to me like public schools... I don't think public schools give much aid to international students... do you have any other suggestions for schools?
