i'm looking at the penn app (class of 2011?)...
so i'd like to major in "philosophy, politics, and economics" (saw it in the list of majors on the site) and minor in "legal studies and history" (involves courses at Wharton even if you don't go there)...So I'm not applying to Wharton or Huntsman or anything special...what do you think of that? Basically my question is, is UPenn a good choice for this plan? what other schools do you think are good for poli sci/legal studies/american history?thanks bunches.

Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, Duke, Princeton, Brown, Mich, Stanford - all good cross-disiplinary social science programs

UC Berkeley, maybe Pomona college, Claremont McKenna College, Chicago (-legal studies?). Basically, finding decent econ, poli sci, and general history programs are fairly easy. Specifically american history and legal studies are just a tad more rare, ls being more so than ah.

I think Penn is right on. Other than Duke and British universities, it's the only elite university I know that offer PPE. Penn Econ is top 10 and US History is top 5 and legal studies at Wharton is another very unique department. Penn is also very encouraging in interdiciplinary studies - the school is loaded with double majors and dual degrees.
