Hey guys,

I'm a political junkie and math has always been one of my best subjects in school. The plan is a career in medicine and obviously i need a high GPA. How easy/hard is it go get an A (+, straight, - ) in poli sci, math, biochemistry and biology?

PS Im thinking of doing a bio/biochem major and minoring in an area that will raise my GPA

Biochem is generally regarded as the toughest premed major anywhere you go. Also, math at Michigan is not considered easy.

Math at Michigan is tough. It is one of the top 10 undergraduate Math departments in the nation and attracts some of the best young Mathematicians in the country. As such, the material covered, faculty expectations and pace at which the classes move are highly competitive.

Political Science is not tough, but geting As at Michigan is not easy. A B+ is pretty standard, but a straight A is not very common.

Chemistry and Biochem at Michigan, like Math, are also very tough.

By the way, A+ and A at Michigan are both equal to a 4.0.

Maintaining a 3.7+ GPA at Michigan is not easy, but it is definitely doable. It just requires commitment to one's studies.

Ndesai, aren't you international? Do you have a US citizenship or Greencard?
