Polisci PhD Chances

<p>I was hoping to get some insight on my chances of admission to Political Science PhD programs. My research focus is on international relations/security. I've listed the schools I'm considering and my stats below. Any input concerning chances or whether I should adjust the list of school would be much appreciated.</p>

<p>Education:</p>

<p>B.A. (Honors) Political Science from Top 50 Undergrad
Overall GPA: 3.46, Major GPA: 3.73</p>

<p>M.A. Security Studies, Georgetown University
GPA: 3.85</p>

<p>GRE Scores: 750V 750Q 4.5 Analytic</p>

<p>Publications:</p>

<p>Three publications in professional policy journals (not student run), one in an academic journal (different field), and one annotated bibliography for Oxford University Press </p>

<p>Experience:</p>

<p>Internship experience at top DC international relations/defense think tanks (CSIS and NDU)</p>

<p>Nobody can “chance” you for graduate school.</p>

<p>I’d be surprised if you didn’t get in somewhere with your publications/stats/recs, but that’s about as far as anyone can realistically go. We have no idea what the applicant pool at those schools looks like this cycle, we don’t know how many students they’re taking or what those professors’ particular research interests are, we don’t know what their funding situation is, etc. etc. etc.</p>
