Political Affiliation

Can being in a club in which you make your political affiliation obvious aka "republican club" be a bad thing in college admissions? Since I don't doubt that most college admissions officers are liberal, would they be biased against you? I won't be writing about politics in my essays or anything, but would putting "Secretary of Republican club" be a bad thing?

Also, this sounds pretty shameless lol but would my chances improve at all if I was a Jewish Ukranian-Immigrant Republican from the Bay Area? Since generally, I've found that Jews are liberal, and even moreso, people from the Bay Area are liberal, would being republican seperate me at all? I'm just wondering, so don't flame please...

Thank you.

You could rename the club to something generic like Political Activism Club.
And no, political affliation "should" not help you in college admissions.

The problem is, we have two political clubs. One is young democrats, and one is young republicans. So basically, will being in the republican one make adcoms biased against me based on my political views?

TAWS just gave you some good advice. Take it.
