Political Atmosphere at Cornell?

Right now in ports across America there are ships that are unwilling to unload their cargo on account that they are only willing to be paid in cold, hard, cash.

I'm still waiting for you to tell me what I don't know about the economic crisis of 2008.

Thanks for all the views on the poly-atmos. of Cornell! I too think that students are really involved with the news. Right now I am at a lower-end SUNY, and I hear tons, and I mean TONS, of kids talking about the debates, how each candidate performed, and yes, even the economy. I'm sure it will be even more discussed at Cornell by all majors, because we really might be living through a turning point in history.

i havent read the previous posts on this thread but just want to give my input:

recently bill maher came to cornell and i was sickened by his worshipping of obama...

yes we all know that obama is the smarter candidate, but can we really gauge what obama will do as president? he hasn't achieved much as a senator...what will he even do as president?

instead of just settling for the lesser of two evils or the smarter of two evils...why doesnt bill maher educate the people and preach against this false left-right paradigm...

both mccain's and obama's foreign policies are similar...and this matters tons considering that everyone's obsessed about global this and global that...

well personally I feel like we have more internal problems right now than external (and not just because the market is starting to reflect that), so I weight economic intelligence more than foreign policy. But also, it is hard to acheive much as a young senator. I have few doubts that Obama won't accomplish what we need to get done

"both mccain's and obama's foreign policies are similar...and this matters tons considering that everyone's obsessed about global this and global that..."

Actually, polls indicate that the economy is the #1 factor that everybody's obsessed about. In fact, they're so obsessed, that the economy outranks all of the other issues combined.
