Political Communications

I'm a junior, and very interested in the Political Communications Major within SMPA at GW.

Can anyone provide me with any information about the major or SMPA that I can't find on the website...such as the selectivity, the advantage of applying early decision there, etc?

I'm interested in working my way up to a political consultant (i've been volunteering with campaigns since 8th grade), so if anyone has any suggestions on any other good programs or majors (like syracuse, gw, bu level schools) I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

I'm enrolling in ESIA next year, but I've heard SMPA is very selective, if not the most selective school at GW. Plus, being close to K Street and all Washington has to offer has to make it one of the best places for political communications.

My daughter was admitted into Political Communications for the fall. We were told that they accept 50 freshman/year, and even less upper classman. She went to an informal tea recently given by the professors and learned a lot about the major. If you have any specific questions, I'll ask her and get back to you!
ps...she applied regular decision.

"(like syracuse, gw, bu level schools)"

I think GW is at a slightly high level than those, but that's just compared to different acceptances for kids at my school. GW is by far the best out of those for your major.

poli comm is HARD to get into, but if you've been working since 8th grade, and keep up an A GPA with AP's and other good XC's, you'll probably get in.
