Does anybody know of any books or websites that have information on "behind-the-scenes" political jobs? Policy advisors, aides, etc.?
I am looking for how to get these jobs, keep these jobs (if you manage to land one and your politician's term ends, are you simply out of luck?), and what kind of background is needed.

Thanks,
UC Berkeley Freshman

Basically for me it was a lot of luck. Im a HS senior, and one of my freinds was volunteering for a campeign. I helped out, and we won. The conctacts that I made have landed me a couple job opportunities that I have to decide on. Its also helpful to live in a State Capitol like I do.

The only thing I can tell you is if you're looking for expirence, stay away from national campeigns. I volunteered for kerry as well as my local canidate and I got much more expiernce on the local campeign.
