Political Research Labs

Now at the moment I doubt anybody would take me in to intern because I'm 14 and although I probably know more about Politics than the average, I don't know enough. My question is would it be possible to volunteer at one? That's to say be the "intern" of the intern, or help with practical things not directly pertaining to politics, but still able to be around in the lab? If so how would I go about doing this, and if not what should I do first?

I already have a little experience with politics being a part of my cities youth commission, and being the youth representative of our cities update of our general plan. Also, I was ASB president of my middle school and am Class president of my high school, but let's be honest that's not politics. Anyways, should I take political classes? I can take some at a local community college if it's necessary. Also, are there any programs that could improve my knowledge of the political world? Hopefully not to expensive because although my family isn't low income, we are FAAAAARRRR from wealthy.

Now when I am qualified what's the next step? I don't live too far from Cal Berkeley (20 Minutes) or any other colleges around this area. How old should I be? Do I just go on their political science research page and email one of the researchers there? I have LOTS of questions so any clarifications would be nice, thank you!
