Political Science and Statistics (applied specifically) Double major viable for employment, etc?

I just want to preserve my writing skills why having a quantitative background but I don’t know if this is a good matchup.

It’s an excellent match up. Political science often requires strong quantitative skills; you can apply a blend of the two fields to working at think tanks analyzing political data (political movements, polls), or for a candidate’s political campaign analyzing data, for NGOs, for governmental agencies like the Census Bureau, etc.

Statistics would be a great combination with political science. Alternatively, you could take a block of elective quantitative courses applicable to politics. These might include survey research methods, geographic information systems, demography, data analytics (big data), economic statistics, etc. These courses might be scattered across several different departments, including sociology, business, geography, economics, etc.
