Political Science at WashU

Hey, everyone! I am going to be applying to Washington University in St. Louis this coming fall. My intended major is political science; however, I feel like there is a bit of a focus on STEM/Business at WashU. As a political science student, will I be at a disadvantage if I attend WashU? Does the political science program get the attention it deserves from the administration? Do STEM/Business students look down on political science students?

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn’t worry-WashU is strong in History and PoliSci and nobody looks down on kids majoring in the subjects.

One of my son’s friends in his dorm freshman year is PoliSci. And my son is doing a double major (Biology/History) to hedge his bets between medical and law school.

Also WashU’s graduate Political Science program is ranked #19 by US News and World Reports so there should be no issues about applying and feeling left out.

I just remembered that another kid in my son’s dorm this year was a CompSci/History double major. A weird combination but it shows that WashU wants their students to take different perspectives in their education.
