Political Science Department?

Hi, I am currently a junior in high school who lives in New England. I do have some interest in CUA and was wondering if some of you could answer my questions, regarding the institution? I understand that CUA has a strong philosophy department, but how about their Political Science? I am sure it is quite solid, considering the other schools surrounding CUA and of course the location. I want to major in International Relations, so would CUA be able to help me in those terms? Thanks!

My D is a freshman at Catholic majoring in Politics (It is not Political Science, they call it Politics as does Yale and one other school I can't remember). She just finished her first week of classes.

As I understand it, Catholic has three subconcentrations of their Politics major.....American Government, World Politics and Political Theory and undergrads pick one. All Politics majors must take the Introductory level course to each within the first three semesters. There is not a International Relations major as far as I can see.

As I understand it, Politics is one of Catholic's better and more popular majors. Certainly the setting for Internships can't be beat.

My D is thoroughly enjoying her experience there so far. The Orientation (including 2 days for parents) was fantastic and absolutely everyone we met was so kind and welcoming. My husband and I cannot say enough about this school. If you are looking for an urban university (with a Metro stop right on campus!) with strong academics and a student body with an unbelievable commitment to service, I highly recommend Catholic U.
