If I wanted to major in political science or international relations, could I still become an investment banker? Would I need to have a couple of finance classes or something? I want to be an investment banker, but I don't want to concentrate solely on finance during college. I'm interested in languages, intl relations, etc.

Also, could someone from Georgetown SFS get recruited for a really good investment bank? Is Georgetown SFS a good recuiting school? What are some other schools that could offer programs in finance and international relations? I already know of Huntsman, but I heard it's not that great. Thanks. :)

I think that would make you stand out as a good candidate if you read some finance courses and excel in them, even though an Msc would be preferable.

What's an Msc?

If I read some finance courses? What do you mean?

corporatefinance must be from the UK

read = take courses in (can also mean "major in" or "study")
Msc = master's in science (usually equivalent to an american MS degree, but sometimes given as a bachelor's degree in some UK universities)

investment banks will ask you why you are interested in finance but decided not to do a major in it. just come up with a genuine answer that shows real interest in ibanking and youll be fine. that's what the goldman sachs recruiter told me at a presentation.

perhaps consider majoring in IPE (international political economy) at gtown. but i really dont know what kind of students ibanks recruit for at gtown.

Thanks. :)
