Political Science Major and..

I wanna major in Political science. Thats most definite. But i was wondering if i should go with Theology as a minor or as a double major with it. Is that a bad combo? Is philosopy better.. I wanna go to U of Michigan. Is that the best college for poli sci and theology or philosophy? Can y'all tell me a better college. Or one that is kinda easier and better to get into. what would be a good job? i am wondering if government is a better major then poli sci. anything would help.. Thanks...

BYe

I'm majoring in PoliSci and International Affairs, too, but I don't see why you want to combie polisci with philosophy and theology.. I don't have anything against people who dedicate their entire lives to these subjects, but it seems like the only way to make money with a philosophy major is to become a teacher... :-/

Michigan is second to none in Political Science. Ranked #1 in American Politics, #5 in International Politics and #3 in Political Science overall. Michigan's Philosophy program is also very strong (top 5 nationally). I am not sure about Theology, but I don't think Michigan is particularly strong in Theology.

But keep in mind that most top research universities and LACs will have good Political Science and Philosophy programs. Schools like Chicago, Columbia, Cornell, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Amherst, Bowdoin, Carleton, Claremont McKenna, Davidson, Pomona etc...

In other words, if you want to go to Michigan because you like the university, go for it, you will not find a better place to study your chosen fields. If, however, you feel like you must go to Michigan because it is excellent in the fields you are considering, do not limit yourself. Many other universities offer equally good but different learning opportunities and environments. Be sure to know what you want and go for it.

As far as what to major in, do not sweat it. Major in a field you are interested in. Political Science, Government, International Relations and Economics are all excellent majors.
