Political Science Major w/ City and Regional Planning Minor

Hello Everyone,

I am currently a Political Science major and a City and Regional Planning minor. I have a quick question regarding my minor., but I need to give a little background first.

I am planning on enrolling in a PhD program in Political Science or Public Policy. I am especially interested in the impact that interest groups and various public policies have on community development, particularly in the areas of education, land use, and the environment. I am minoring in City and Regional planning ONLY because it is a very policy-oriented program. I have NO intentions of working as a city planner.

My question is: is it worthwhile to minor in something only for the purpose of complimenting your current major, even though I have no desire to devote a career to that specific minor?
