I personally am very interested in majoring in political science but I am not sure what you could do with a degree in political science. To me it seems like there isn't a lot of potential with a political science degree. If anyone has more information or is majoring in political science could you please give me more information such as possible careers, level of difficulty, how interesting it is as a major, and if you feel the major is worth it. Thank you for any help.

Careers really aren’t plentiful. The closest related career would be government work and non-profit areas.

However, you certainly don’t need a Poli Sci degree to work in those fields.

Compared to other majors, Poli Sci is pretty easy. I’d consider it to be a pretty interesting major, lots of different topics to study.

I don’t think it’s worth it. Go to school for something marketable.

I don’t know where you live, but in RI most jobs in the state government ask for Political Science degrees, computer science, or business administration.

See the below site for general info:

Do something you’re interested in - not just to get a job. Ideally, both would be preferable.A good suggestion for PoliSci majors are a double major in Econ or Business or corresponding minors. This icreases your marketability. Most likely, you’re looking at grad school/law school for advancement.
