Political Science vs. History

Hey Guys,

I was wondering which was the more popular and versatile major? I have always had a passion for history but I have also had a passion for Political Science (At age 5 I memorized all the President's and 7 I knew their policies and what not lol) but I am ineptly well in math and science for some reason. and I have no interest in double majoring. I want to pursue in Business possibly banking or accounting. I understand I should major in what I enjoy but I want to do major in something I enjoy and major in something that will help me pursue my careers whether small or big.

Thanks,
AD23

If you want to go into banking, PoliSci will equip you with a lot of data analysis skills and give you exposure to useful statistical techniques.

BUMP… thank you agc… any other comments/feedback?

If you’re in high school, you don’t need to worry about your college major yet, especially if you are considering something as broad as the social sciences (history, political science, etc). Take introductory courses and see what you like best about each of them. Take economics as well – it underlies history and political science.

If you want to understand the theory behind how the world works, study Political Science.
If you want to understand how the world actually has functioned and will likely function in the future, study History.
