I’m actually a sophomore poli sci major at nu right now, so maybe I can offer a little insight.

So far I’ve taken 5 poli sci courses at NU and the department here is fabulous. The professors, for the most part, are all very competent and smart. The grading system is pretty fair and the courses are all substantive and interesting. Well, ok let me revise that. All the courses I have taken have been interesting haha.

And concerning career prospects…well I know that law school is definitely a popular destination for many poli sci majors. Some definitely do take up consulting, while others join non-profit groups and I’d imagine there are those who work for the government as well. It’s honestly a mixed bag…but assuming you do fairly well at NU, you shouldn’t have a big problem snagging most jobs you’d be interested in.

If you have any other questions, or if you want me to clarify something let me know!
