how is the political slant at BU? i’ve heard that it is very liberal, and the boston area in general is very liberal…this doesn’t bother me…but what are the classes and profs like?

Good question, from my experience, I dont think I have ever had a lecture in which my prof hasn't mentioned something about how the gov is crap in their opinion. Every so often you catch the profs hint at how Bush is wrong, I mean, its a little too obvious sometimes and quite funny how they beat around the bush-->No pun intended...seriously. Let me tell you, even in the dorms, people are as liberal as they get in the sense that everything goes. It's funny, everyone knows who the conservatives on the floor are and the liberals make their strong presence known. I dont think its something that you should be too worried about, just know that BU is VERY liberal.

Those in academia are often liberal. This is nothing to do with BU. I take it as a sign that those in the know vote liberal. But is the liberal opinion on campus oppressive? NO WAY! You can bet your pants that conservatives make themselves heard. Are they a minority? Only to political apathy. Go to the School of Management's "Breadwinner Cafe" and count the rightists. The professors are human. They will sometimes share their political views if they are germane to the class topic. Will you be penalized for disagreeing? Not in the slightest. Is the liberal opinion stifling? Pah!

LOL.

Not quite.
